Brand Name: TEXONE®

Generic name: Ceftriaxone

Pharmaceutical category:
TEXONE® is the “third generation of cephalosporins” and “antibiotics”.

The mechanism of Action:
Like other antibiotics, this drug prevents the formation of cell walls in bacteria. The cell wall in bacteria protects cells against environmental factors and if the wall does not form completely, the bacteria will burst into the water by water absorption. The TEXONE® replaces the peptidoglycan constituents in the final stage of the formation of peptidoglycans and causes the formation of a defective cell wall.

Pharmacokinetics:
TEXONE® follows a dose-dependent nonlinear kinetics due to protein binding. The peak concentration of the drug is obtained after intramuscular injection for up to 2 hours. The half-life of the drug is 9-6 hours. It is widely distributed in body tissues and fluids. More than half of the dose of the drug is excreted in the urine and unchanged and the rest is excreted through the feces in the form of unchanged and inactive compounds.
